Weather Man

I got this idea for a weather station from one of the websites I follow regularly. She is much more craftier than I've ever dared be!
--I just took one of my old metal pans that I didn't use anymore and added our fridge letters to spell "WEATHER." I only had 1 'E' so I made do with a '3.'
--Foam was suggested for making the sun, cloud, wind, and rain, but we only had construction paper. I also "laminated" them with contact paper.
--I took a few magnets from pizza places off our fridge and cut them up to stick them to the backs of our sun, cloud, umbrella, and wind.
--And, voila! A weather station!
This is a fun and practical way to learn about the weather!

Garrett's 1st VBS Program

We really talked up this program all week, knowing that Garrett has some shy tendencies. Nana and Poppy and Aunt Dana came, adding to the excitement of the coming ice cream party afterwards. Garrett, as expected, did not want to stay on stage with Ms. Jennifer, so I had to join him!

They did like the ice cream afterwards, though!

I'm hoping Nana got a few more pictures up close. If so, I'll pass them your way!

Today's Photo Session

You can find the link here from our photo session this morning with Jadie Thomas. I am so impressed! Today was Garrett's birthday, so these cover his 3 year pics and Charlotte's 1 year pics.

Happy Birthday, Garrett!

Saturday was Garrett's 3rd birthday party! He is really into dinosaurs right now, so it was a dinosaur theme, complete with dinosaur moonwalk (courtesy of Uncle Jarsy!), dinosaur cake, dinosaur watermelon...the list goes on!

Granny and I got creative with this little dinosaur watermelon!

Garrett and his good friend, Mo Mo. Normally I would be a little concerned about this, except that Garrett really wanted his space here!

He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and apparently the tractor to plow it

Over the last few weeks, Garrett has begun to ask some of the hard questions in life, such as, "Where do cows come from?" and "What do baby goats drink?" and the like. So, I'm never surprised these days what he comes up with. Take this conversation for example:

Garrett: "Look at that sun...Jesus made that."

Me: "Yes, He did. He made everything and He is everywhere."

Garrett: "Is He coming to my birthday party?"

Me: (stuttering) "Umm, well,"

Garrett: "Where is His car?"

Me: "Jesus doesn't have a car."

Garrett: "He has a truck?"

Me: "No, Jesus doesn't have to use a car or a truck."

Garrett: (very matter-of-factly) "Oh, He has a tractor."
