"...And the lion will lie down with the lamb..."

First off, let me just say that I grew up in a pastor's home and can still quote so much scripture at you it would make your head spin. So, imagine my disappointment when I Bible Gatewayed this verse and it wasn't in the Bible! I even swayed from my KJV translation to others hoping it would be there. NOTHING! The phrase is somewhat derived from this one:
Regardless, my two cuties will be the Lion and the Lamb tonight at the "Fall Festival" (that's what Christians like to call "Halloween" or "Trick-or-Treating;" we even sometimes refer to it as a "Harvest Party"). Here is a sneak peek!
By the way, Garrett wants to shout out to Caleb for the use of his Lion!

The Saggy Baggy Elephant

Remember this story?

When I was little, my mom read this one a lot! I grew up in Indiana (read: "cold winter") and wore a lot of tights to keep my Independent Baptist legs warm under my skirts. They inevitably crept down my legs throughout the day and my mom would refer to me as the "Saggy Baggy Elephant!" Well, now I have a "Saggy Baggy Elephant" of my own! Meet "Saggy Baggy 2!"

What she doesn't know yet, is that I will continue to put these things on her for the rest of her life--and yes, they will continue to creep down her Southern Baptist legs as they did mine!

For now, she doesn't seem to mind!

Crude Bathroom Humor

Randy typically gives Garrett his bath at night. One night, I ran down the hall to hysterical laughter--from Randy and Garrett! Apparently, crude bathroom humor is funny to men of all ages!

Poppy's Birthday Weekend

This weekend we celebrated Poppy's birthday--complete with cake and pumpkin carving! Yes, unusual! But when your babies go to bed at 7:00 and Poppy is only in town a few nights a week--you squeeze a lot of stuff into an evening!
This was the first year that Garrett carved a pumpkin. As you can see, he was totally impressed!

Growing up, Poppy put his own spin on each holiday. For instance, Easter egg coloring was not complete without one brown egg, carefully dipped into each smelly bowl of vinegar, resulting in a poopy-brown egg. Halloween is no exception. He has always taken the left-over cuttings from the pumpkin and made them into ears for the pumpkin.

Happy Birthday, Poppy! We love you!
